This is Reiss beach in August; 3 miles of pristine sand just outside of Wick.
The local golf course runs alongside this beach.
It's one of our little secrets.

School Aims

Wick High School aims to enable all pupils to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally, and to develop, as far as possible, their individual talents and abilities.

Specifically to:

  • maintain a secure and pleasant environment in which learning may take place.
  • ensure the best quality of teaching and use of resources.
  • establish an atmosphere in which all staff and pupils feel valued and motivated to play a full part in developing all aspects of school life.
  • acknowledge the role of parents in the education of their children and promote effective communication between home and school.
  • encourage links between the school and the community as part of the school's commitment to prepare pupils for life and work in society.
  • equip pupils with the highest qualifications possible to enable them to move on successfully to employment or continuing education.

MOVING OUT / LEAVING HOME

The Calman Trust Ltd is a voluntary organization based in Highland.
We provide support, training and advice to young people aged 14-25 years who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who may be struggling to make the transition to independent adulthood.
We work alongside young people in schools to help them prepare of the challenges they will
face in moving on towards work, or a home of their own in the future.
The aim is to enable young people to live sustainable, positive, independent lives. The website
www.leavinghomeinthehighlands.org
provides valuable guidance, advice and links for young people leaving home and moving on.
